Belgium and Ireland take team gold - Lisa Räuber in the junior final, Anna Markel just missed it

JS - After the children already determined their new European Team Champion and the participants from the Top 30 Final yesterday, the team decisions of the Juniors and Young Riders took place today at the FEI European Jumping Championships in Millstreet (IRL). In both classes it was also determined which 30 athletes are allowed to compete for the medals in the individual decision on Sunday.

For the juniors Today there were two 1.40 m high laps that counted for both the team and the individual ranking. Austria's Lisa Maria Räuber was able to put down two solid clear rounds with Cuyano. Anna Markel and Cascaro only had one mistake on the open moat on the first lap and completed lap number two with a very well-ridden, fault-free lap.

Leonard Platzer recorded twelve faults with Bario van’t Martendonkerf, Johanna Sixt with Lillifee 35 faults. The junior team was unfortunately not qualified for the decision of the top ten teams after the first round and ended up in 13th place. For the individual final of the best 30 Lisa Räuber was able to qualify as eighth in the ranking, Anna Markel missed a place and unfortunately just missed it by 0.03 points.

In the junior team ranking, the medals had to be awarded in the jump-off, because Italy, Great Britain and Belgium were tied with eight points each. Ultimately, the team from Belgium was able to prevail in the jump-off with the fastest time and won gold. Silver went to Italy, bronze to Great Britain.

In the Young Rider team competition it also went over two laps, but they were already 1.50 m high. Our Austrians Felix Koller and Josefina Goess-Saurau fought their way through as individual starters after the retirement of Alessandra Reich. Felix and his Cort made no mistakes until the second round of the second qualification today, but in the end they received a few penalty points and were therefore out of the race. Josefina Goess-Saurau had four fault points with Phantastic in the previous competitions, another eleven were added today, which meant the 39th place. The hosts from Ireland won the medals in the Young Rider team competition, ahead of the Netherlands and Switzerland. The detailed result will follow as soon as it is available online.
