What is an SSD actually worth? That depends on your individual needs. There are already very cheap SSD hard drives that can still keep up with many more expensive models. With a solid state drive, you basically have to pay more for the same amount of storage capacity compared to an ordinary hard drive. However, this is usually worthwhile as you can use it to significantly accelerate the speed of your laptop or computer. Computer-intensive programs and games in particular benefit enormously from this and are loaded much faster, but the boot process of your PC or notebook also increases enormously with a solid state drive, so that it is ready for use extremely quickly. Nevertheless, if you have a very large amount of non-installable data, such as MP3s or video files, you should also buy a normal hard drive and use it together with the SSD. SLC, MLC or TLC SSD hard drives?

SLC means single level cell. These SSDs can only accommodate 1 bit per memory cell and are therefore the most wasteful of memory. Special case: Hybrid hard disk (HHD = Hybrid Hard Disk)

The Hybrid hard drive or HHD is, as the name suggests, a hybrid of HDD and SSD. Basically, an ordinary hard disk is combined with a proportionately small but very fast flash memory. As a result, the speed can be improved in some areas compared to normal hard drives, but the hybrid hard drive does not come close to the speeds of a solid state drive. This variant is currently particularly popular in notebooks, as there is often not enough space for an HDD and SSD at the same time and you want to compromise between speed and a lot of storage space.
